| 'Candy' is by the internationally renowned supersire Weltmeyer out of Risqué who is by Regardez Moi. 'Candy' is almost certainly the only such cross made to date, so she is a very special baby indeed!
Weltmeyer of course should need no introduction to dressage enthusiasts! He is almost certainly the most famous dressage stallion of the modern age! Candy's dam Risqué is by Regardez Moi (see Aurum Revoir for more details), an exciting young Grand Prix horse who needs no introduction in Australia. She is out of a Salute mare, Slinky who is in turn out of Lynx, a full sister to Londoner, Australian Inter I champion (Heath Ryan) as a 6 year old, then Grand Prix winner with Olympian Mary Hanna. Lynx was the dam of Don Panach ridden by Olympian Stuart Tinney and winner of the CCI* three day event in Sydney 2005. Lynx also goes back to Benito, a Trakehner stallion ridden by Chris Chugg in World Cup Show Jumping classes. With this combination you can expect movement to burn of course as well as excellent trainability. This is a virtually guaranteed Grand Prix dressage horse if ever there was one. Apart from sensationally forward and elevated movement Candy has a wonderful confident temperament and is very friendly and interested in talking to everyone she meets! She is a real personality. Risqué's last foal was also a unique baby at the time (only the second Jive Magic/Regardez Moi cross) and was sold very rapidly to a New Zealand Grand Prix dressage home. We'd be very surprised if Candy doesn't get snapped up just as quickly! And she was! Sold to Victorian dressage rider Fiona Anderson! Candy's dam Risqué is currently back in foal to Weltmeyer (which should tell you how impressed we were with Candy), so if you missed out on Candy, check back next season. |
