| An amazing Brilliant Invader/McCartney combination gives this youngster the outstanding movement as well as the scopey jumping ability we are seeking in a modern state-of-the-art eventer! Benny is the current refined pinnacle of a series of purpose-bred eventers on both sides. His dam Aurum Poppy has a serious performance lineage indeed! She is by A grade showjumper McCartney (himself out of an A grade showjumping mare). Poppy's own dam, Daisy, was a highly talented purpose bred eventer (bred by Steve and Pauline Weir) who succesfully competed at one star level in the days when one star was somewhat more challenging than it seems to be now! Her sire was Sterling King who succesfully competed at three star level. Daisy was out of a Black Pampas mare, a line which has been highly sought after for jumping horses in Australia. As is often the case, a look back through these pedigrees shows the same sires or dams appearing time and time again, Black Pampas being no surprise here with Bay Ronald, Marco and Phalaris popping up. Aurum Poppy was lightly competed prior to stud duties (no fault of her own, just our lack of time). She shows a sensational jump and excellent above-average movement, frequently on top of the scoreboard after the dressage! |

On his sire side, Benny boasts the combined might of Brilliant Invader and Flooding via his sire Aurum Invader, himself out of an amazing performance mare Tidal Wave. As mentioned, Benny's pedigree is very heavily sprinkled with the big thoroughbred names which appear in many of the World's great jumping horses. Of note, however, the sires Precipitation and Dark Ronald are also very common within the pedigrees of some of the World's top dressage horses! That's why he can move so well! Benny has outstanding movement and great presence, just like his mother. With Brilliant Invader and McCartney horses winning pretty much EVERYTHING in Australia these days he would make the perfect choice for a serious eventer wanting to bank on the future. |
