Brilliant Invader sired many highly succesful showjumping and eventing horses including Ready Teddy (Olympic Gold Medallist with Blyth Tait of NZ), Mousetrap (Jane Griffin), Marine Park Invader and Street Talk (Michelle Clark). While in New Zealand, Brilliant Invader sired a string of successful showjumpers as well as the aforementioned Ready Teddy.Right now in Australia there are a number of Brilliant Invader line horses competing succesfully at the top level ridden by well-known competitors such as Atlanta Gold Medallist Wendy Schaeffer (Koyuna Sun Shine, Sun Dancer and Sun Storm), Heath Ryan, Brooke Dobbin (Woodmount Crusader) and Becky Allen (Koyuna Ted). The 2007-2008 season has seen numerous wins by these horses at many of the country's premiers eventing and showjumping competitions. It's probably not surprising in retrospect that Brilliant Invader sired so many great jumpers; his blood includes the great Precipitation, possibly one of the most influential jumping sires of all time. Precipitation sired Furioso whose own stallion sons have dominated jumping breeding in France, Germany, Holland and Belgium for many years. Brilliant Cut's dam, Daisy, was a highly talented purpose bred eventer who succesfully competed to one star level in the days when one star was somewhat more challenging than it seems to be now! Her sire was Sterling King who succesfully competed at three star level. Daisy is out of a Black Pampas mare, a line which has been highly sought after for jumping horses in Australia. Through both her sire and dam her blood contains several strong jumping sires including Bay Ronald, Phalaris, Nearco and others. Brilliant Cut's foals are very good looking, have excellent conformation and great personalities. They are typically very confident. Given their bloodlines they not surprisingly appear to love jumping! |
