Rivière d'Or shows a strong ability and willingness to learn. He takes lessons in his stride and remembers new skills very effectively.

He is currently training Elementary and gaining high marks.

He displays a quite striking flamboyance of movement. For us this shows the strength of the mare line as much as the stallion line. This flamboyance and presence was evident as a young foal (his young full brother Aurum Revoir displays the same high quality).

His grandsire was one of the world's leading sires of Dressage Grand Prix horses, Rubinstein. Rubinstein is no longer with us of course and due to the poor quality of his frozen semen it is almost impossible for anyone to breed directly with him.

Rivière d'Or's dam Aurum Belle was bred by Aurum out of a super moving Vain line mare and is a classic example of selective breeding to produce desirable characteristics. She was retained in the breeding herd and has never been broken in or competed. Each of her foals has inherited her wonderful expressive movement. She is one of those rare horses who combines wonderful floating strides with excellent knee and hock action hence producing natural power and elevation. She also passes on great presence to all of her foals.

Aurum Belle is by Floodway who was by Flooding out of a Northern Warmbloods mare. Flooding was the sire of many Grand Prix Show Jumpers, including two time Olympic representative Another Flood, and also 3 & 4* eventers including Tidal Wave and Let it Rain. The Flooding line also contributes excellent movement in our experience. Aurum also stands a very good moving Flooding son Aurum Flash Flood.

Aurum Rivière d'Or is only available by frozen semen.
